One Tiny Habit
Under 5 minutes a day can change your life.
Try to guess what Iām describing. At first, you feel uncomfortable. Then, you feel a rush of adrenaline. Immediately after, you get this warm feeling inside your soul. As a result, you feel more happy & connected to the person you were with.
Woah woah, no no no. Itās definitely not that.
Iām describing what itās like to make someoneās day! It feels so damn good, right? And to be honest, I donāt think I (or most people) get that feeling enough. So, I have made mantra and tiny habit to remind myself regularly:
Make someoneās day every day.
Itās easier said than done. Personally, I either forget or feel too uncomfortable to compliment others to their face. But, Iām really good at singing their praises behind their back. I found a hack to fix that problem:
When I compliment someone behind their back or think about how great they are, I immediately send them a text of what I said or thought.
Itās low effort, high reward, and builds momentum into being a more outwardly appreciative person. Not a lot of times do we tell the people we love why we love them. This tiny habit helps me (and hopefully you) do that more often.

One Insightful Question
Stop unconsciously floating through life & start thinking about things that really matter.
Itās really easy to think about what you want. Be in great shape. Do meaningful work. And have a significant other you love.
But, itās equally as easy to end up living a life that you hate. Constantly feel ashamed of your love handles. Push papers like a number. And feel lonely when you go to bed.
Or, even worse, you achieve your dream but form a life you hate in the process.
What if your dream was to be a musician? And guess what - you did it!
But while youāre touring the world, you gain weight, get addicted to drugs, erode your marriage, & have kids that barely recognize youā¦you won the battle but lost the war.
Luckily, you can prevent this with one easy question:
What are my anti-goals?
These are things you donāt want to happen along the way. And they can be used for almost any pursuit you go after in life.
By setting your anti-goals before pursuing something, you plan against the worst case scenario and end up doing a lot better. You can go for your dreams while hedging its risks.
Anti-goals allow you to win the battle AND the war. It gives you the chance to have it all.

One Guiding Principle
Principles can guide you to a great life.
Think about the past. There are a million things you should have spent your time doing. Recruiting for a job. Hitting the gym. Finding a significant other. The list goes on and on.
This can cause a lot of unneeded regret & stress. Those paths are closed and cannot change.
On the flipside, the things you did spend your time doing have led to all of the beautiful things in your life. It has built this amazing story that makes up the person that you are.
Now, think about the future. There are a ton of things that you can spend your time doing. Those things can build towards an awesome life. And for 99% of people, your previous choices have no real effect on what you can choose to pursue in the future. These paths are open and can change.
This leads to a guiding principle that I try to live by:
Focus on the paths that are opened to you, not those that are already closed.
You canāt control the things you did. But you can control what you do right now and in the short term future. You can control who you become. There are no rules saying you have to follow who you were. How you live your life is entirely up to you.
And remember: regardless of what you choose to spend time on, you will inevitably build a beautiful story & future person.
